Job summary

Gravis Robotics in Oxford is seeking a Field Robotics Engineer to lead customer deployments of our Rooftop Autonomous Control Kit, coordinating across hardware, software and field operations for reliable, high-performance systems.

This hybrid role combines hands-on engineering with project ownership, requiring travel to customer sites (including international) and close collaboration with R&D and Operations to plan, test, and deliver deployments.

Qualifications

• University degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Strong experience deploying, integrating, and debugging robotic software systems.
• Experience with the ROS ecosystem.
• Solid Linux proficiency.
• Fluency with Git or other version control systems.
• Good programming skills in C++ and Python.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites (including internationally).
• Valid Category B driving license.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical execution of customer deployment projects from start to finish.
• Own end-to-end technical planning, coordination, and follow-up in close collaboration with Operations.
• Serve as a trusted technical point of contact for customers throughout the deployment lifecycle.
• Provide hands-on technical support and guidance to customers and end users.
• Perform regular system testing to ensure reliability, robustness, and performance.
• Generate performance reports and work with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues quickly.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of deployment processes, tooling, and best practices.
