Job summary

European Tech Recruit are working closely with a robotics company based in Zurich, seeking a Field Robotics Engineer to join the UK team as the first hire. You will bridge hardware, software and autonomy, leading customer deployments from planning through on-site execution to long‑term optimization.

The role combines hands-on troubleshooting with end-to-end project ownership in a dynamic field. Travel to client sites across the Oxford–London corridor and internationally is expected, with options

Qualifications

• University degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience deploying, integrating, and troubleshooting robotic systems.
• Strong ROS/ROS 2, Linux, and Git fundamentals.
• Proficient in C++ and Python.
• Willingness to travel extensively, including international travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer deployment projects from concept to completion, coordinating with R&D and Operations.
• On-site commissioning, integration, and field testing to ensure reliability and performance.
• Serve as the primary technical partner for clients, providing guidance and training.
• Perform field diagnostics and optimize hardware/software deployments.
• Translate field insights into improved deployment tools, workflows, and best practices.
