Job Description:

Operations and Maintenance Engineer

Based in Slough, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom (Remote). This role involves maintaining and commissioning telecommunications infrastructure on Highways England Contracts, including major motorways such as M25, M4, M11, M1, A14, M40, and A1(M).

Join our team to help keep the nation's critical infrastructure connected and protected 24/7. You will be working with a supportive team, using your initiative to solve field issues related to telecommunications networks.

Responsibilities:

• Attending to cable breaks and repairs on copper and fibre cables
• Completing commissioning of equipment to standard, on time and within budget
• Addressing equipment issues in Transmission Buildings and Roadside Cabinets
• Performing maintenance and testing on fibre and copper cables
• Completing documentation accurately and promptly

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience in a similar role, with fault finding and testing skills in fibre or copper environments
• Experience with motorway communications or similar systems
• Knowledge of telecommunication networks, copper jointing, fibre splicing and testing
• Strong health and safety awareness
• Ability to repair fibre or copper cable breaks
• Willingness to work overtime or on call as required
