Job summary

Energy Assets is hiring a Network Operative in the Midlands to support inspection, maintenance and operation of the electricity distribution network. You will work both independently and with a team to maintain substations, underground cables and related assets while learning the specialist skills required to become a Network Engineer.

The role includes training, career development, and a structured progression path within a growing utility infrastructure business.

Qualifications

  • A recognised electrical qualification (or relevant electrical experience).
  • Good fault-finding and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out inspections of LV electricity network assets.
  • Maintaining substations, underground cables and associated equipment.
  • Identifying and reporting network defects.
  • Installing monitoring equipment.
  • Assisting with fault response and network restoration.
  • Supporting planned maintenance and connection works.
  • Assisting with cable jointing activities under supervision.
  • Producing inspection reports and technical documentation.
  • Working safely in accordance with procedures and regulations.
  • Participating in an on-call rota after training.
