Job summary

Smart CT Ltd is seeking a Field Engineer to deliver high-quality on-site IT hardware installations and networking deployments across the Midlands. The role involves safe deployment, configuration to client specs and on-call cover as part of a nationwide engineering network.

You will work with clients directly, resolve issues, and document installation details while maintaining high standards of customer service and technical accuracy. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Practical experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting IT networking, cabling and POS hardware.
• Strong working knowledge of networking technologies, including Cisco equipment.
• Experience working independently at client sites within defined service levels and timescales.
• A full, clean UK driving licence is required.
• ServiceNow experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and deploy IT networking and POS hardware at client sites, ensuring safe practices and integration with existing systems.
• Configure hardware per client specifications and Smart CT standards.
• Test installations and confirm equipment operates correctly before leaving site.
• Record installation details, including location, asset information and test results.
• Provide professional technical updates and support to clients and colleagues.
