Job summary

Smart CT Ltd. is seeking a Field Engineer to deliver high-quality on-site IT networking and POS hardware services across the Greater London area. You will install, deploy, configure and test equipment, ensuring safety and alignment with Smart CT standards, while maintaining clear communication with clients and the Service Desk.

The role includes on-call duties roughly one week in four, and progression opportunities within Smart CT's engineering team based on performance and business needs.

Qualifications

• Practical experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting IT networking, cabling and POS hardware.
• Strong knowledge of networking technologies, including Cisco.
• Ability to work independently at client sites and meet SLAs.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with accurate documentation.
• Full, clean UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and deploy IT networking and POS hardware at client sites.
• Configure hardware per client specs and Smart CT standards.
• Test installations and confirm operation before leaving site.
• Record installation details, asset information and test results.
• Diagnose and resolve issues during installation, maintenance, or break-fix.
• Provide professional technical support and clear client communication.
