Job summary

Severn Trent Water is recruiting for a Metering Technician to join our field team across multiple postcodes in the heart of the UK. The role focuses on gathering meter readings and resolving customer billing queries while engaging confidently with customers.

A full UK driving licence is required, and you will work outdoors in all weather across the patch. This position offers weekday shifts with no weekend work, and opportunities to develop within a large water company that values community

Qualifications

Strong interpersonal, negotiating and influencing skills.
Ability to plan, prioritise and resolve work in the most effective way possible.
Ability to work in a demanding target driven environment as part of a remote based team.
Confidence to review and discuss work carried out by contract partners and challenge quality and effectiveness of work where required.
Ability to manage jobs through until completion, share learnings with your team and deal with customer escalations and complaints where required.

Responsibilities

Gather meter readings and investigate customer billing queries.
Speak confidently to customers and guide them if any technical issues arise.
Be a good team player and work in a supportive field team environment.
On-site role in all weather, with driving between sites as needed.
Review work carried out by contract partners and ensure quality and closure of jobs.
