Job summary

Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) to work in a field-based team across the Swansea area. You will perform planned maintenance on assets, investigate faults, install and refurbish equipment, and ensure work meets health and safety standards.

Ideal candidates hold a mechanical/electrical apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds), a full driving licence, and strong teamwork and problem‑solving skills. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical engineering with NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds equivalent.
• Full driving licence.
• Experience of working in a team.
• Experience analysing information to spot potential problems.
• Practical industry experience supporting apprenticeship and H&S compliance.

Responsibilities

• Work in a field-based team on planned improvement projects and preventative maintenance across Welsh Water assets.
• Investigate plant failures and carry out scheduled maintenance to minimise breakdowns.
• Install, refurbish and assist with commissioning equipment to specification, on time and safely.
• Audit spares and materials; order items via supervisor or from supplier.
• Follow health and safety procedures and maintain duty of care to colleagues and others.
• Update information in IT systems daily and liaise with external contractors on large capital schemes.
• Organise own time with minimal supervision and undertake other duties as required.
