Job summary

Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) to join a field-based team responsible for planned activities on Welsh Water assets, including improvement projects and preventative maintenance. You will investigate plant failures, perform scheduled maintenance, and assist with installations and commissioning to specification, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will also manage spare parts, liaise with contractors, and uphold company procedures.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical or dual skilled engineering with NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds equivalent.
• Ability to work in a field-based role and meet safety requirements.
• Experience in analysing information to spot potential problems and provide solutions.

Responsibilities

• Work on planned maintenance for Welsh Water assets and react to failures across the area.
• Investigate plant failures and perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Carry out installations, refurbishments and assist commissioning to specification.
• Audit spares and order items via supervisor or supplier.
• Follow health and safety procedures and maintain duty of care for colleagues.
