Location – Surrey / Sussex / London with extensive UK and European Travel

Intelligent data linked to professional sports is here to stay, and the evolution of data in many decision-making processes continues to increase.

To support that, we’re working with one of the global leaders in sports technology and are looking to recruit an infrastructure bias, field manager who will drive the process and delivery of next-generation technology into British football stadiums and, in time, across stadiums in Europe.

The equipment sits on Apple iOS platforms and standard cable infrastructure, so we’re looking for supervisors / project engineers with a strong network infrastructure background and end-to-end subcontractor delivery experience to supervise technology partners across multiple sites.

The cabling installation will mainly be outsourced to partner companies (Cat6), and your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out surveys
  • Configuring routers and switches
  • Producing statements of work and associated documentation
  • Engaging contractors to deliver the cable infrastructure
  • Managing progress through to completed network installation
  • Returning to the venue to check equipment setup
  • Performing calibration on equipment and configurations
  • Signing off on installation and attending for fault fixing and adjustments as needed

Training will be provided on specific hardware and technology, but a routing and switching configuration knowledge of typical networking equipment is assumed. Communication skills are crucial—both internally and externally via email/Slack—and the ability to triage issues is important.

In plain English, you should come from a network infrastructure background with some project/supervisory experience, making this role a hybrid of supervision/site delivery and hands-on work when necessary.

Flexibility is key—while the roles are UK-focused initially, they may expand to a European scope in about 12 months, requiring travel up to 50% of the time (fully business-expensed). This will involve significant travel and overnight stays, so personal circumstances should accommodate this.

Ideal locations are South London, Surrey, Hampshire, or West/East Sussex. We cannot consider applicants from other locations at this time.

Some work will be at heights (football stadiums), so comfort with that environment is necessary, although climbing tickets are not required. Relevant site management qualifications such as CSCS or SSSTS are a bonus but not essential.

You will need a full driving license and your own vehicle, with all business travel expenses reimbursed.
