Job summary

Arcus FM Limited in the Chelmsford area is seeking a skilled Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineer to carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a defined portfolio. You will respond to first-line emergencies and ensure top-quality service delivery on site.

The role requires an recognised apprenticeship or qualification in M&E, 18th Edition, and a valid UK driving licence. You will diagnose faults in electrical, mechanical and HVAC equipment, and mentor apprentices and junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship or qualification in M&E services/maintenance.
• Essential Qualifications: 18th Edition
• Desirable Qualifications: F-Gas, Test & Inspection, Unvented
• Previous experience in a similar role (retail or commercial experience preferred)
• Valid UK driving licence (essential)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• IT proficiency and ability to manage workload effectively

Responsibilities

• Performing planned and reactive maintenance on M&E systems
• Diagnosing and resolving faults in electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment
• Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations
• Providing technical support and expertise across multiple sites
• Liaising with customers to deliver outstanding service
• Supporting and mentoring apprentices and junior engineers
