Job summary

CMD Recruitment Limited is recruiting on behalf of a leading IT services provider for an experienced Field Engineer to join the growing team. The role covers diagnosing and repairing server, storage and network hardware at customer sites, with a focus on delivering excellent service and meeting SLAs.

You will work across enterprise server, storage and network infrastructure, provide first-hand technical support, and collaborate with Service Desk, Logistics and Purchasing to ensure seamless

Qualifications

• Strong server, storage and networking experience.
• Proven experience supporting enterprise server, storage and networking hardware.
• Experience in IT hardware maintenance or field services.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve faults across server, storage and network infrastructure.
• Attend customer sites to provide hardware maintenance, break-fix support and technical assistance.
• Take ownership of customer incidents from initial diagnosis through to resolution, ensuring SLAs are met.
• Investigate technical issues and implement effective solutions with minimal disruption to customers.
• Arrange replacement parts and coordinate repairs where required.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers and internal teams.
• Assist with pre-sales technical support and solution design when required.
• Work closely with the Service Desk, Service Delivery, Logistics and Purchasing teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Maintain accurate service records, documentation and customer updates using internal systems.
• Keep technical knowledge up to date with current technologies and industry developments.
• Participate in the regional 24/7 on-call rota and provide out-of-hours support when required.
• Proven experience supporting enterprise server, storage and networking hardware.
• Previous experience within the IT hardware maintenance or field services industry.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively.
• Well organised with strong attention to detail.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including participation in an out-of-hours support rota.
• A driving licence is essential for this role.
