Job summary

CMD Recruitment is seeking a Senior Field Engineer with Server, Storage and Networking experience for South East London and surrounding areas. This full-time permanent role offers up to £40,000pa plus a £5,000 Car Allowance, with an on-call rota and regional travel as required.

Driving licence is essential for this role. The successful candidate will triage and resolve server/storage/network issues, take ownership of customer problems, and work with Service Operations to maintain high service

Qualifications

• Experience in Server, Storage & Network devices.
• Experience with major manufacturers (IBM, SUN, Cisco, Dell, HP, NetApp, Fujitsu, EMC, Hitachi).
• Previous IT Maintenance Services industry experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Flexible to work outside core hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Triaging and resolving server, storage & network issues for customers.
• Own customer issues and monitor SLAs.
• Investigate and respond to technical assistance requests.
• Coordinate parts orders for fault maintenance as needed.
• Handle general support and participate in pre-sales technicalities.
• Join regional 24/7 on-call rota as required.
• Cover Out of Hours when/if needed.
• Identify complex problems, evaluate options and implement solutions.
• Collaborate with Service Operations to ensure high customer service levels.
• Maintain accurate information in internal systems and document updates.
• Keep up-to-date technical knowledge in line with industry developments.
