Job summary

NatCen is seeking a Field Interviewer for Matlock on a part‑time basis. You will visit homes to conduct important health, housing and transport interviews, guiding conversations on a tablet or laptop and collecting real-life experiences across Britain.

This role is not desk-based; you’ll be out in the community, visiting households, with flexible weekday/evening/weekend hours and a DBS check required.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence and sole use of a car.
• Class 1 Business insurance.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to complete a DBS check.
• Reliable home broadband.
• Laptop or tablet with camera.
• Comfortable using basic technology.
• At least 18 hours available per week.
• Flexibility for weekdays, evenings and weekends.
• Strong verbal and written English.

Responsibilities

• Visit people in their homes to carry out vital research interviews on health, housing and transport.
• Use a tablet or laptop to guide conversations and capture experiences.
• Go out into the community, knock on doors, and conduct interviews.
• You’ll help create change that improves people’s lives by collecting real stories.
