Job summary
United Utilities is seeking an Instrumentation Field Service Engineer for our Poaka Beck Water Treatment Works in Cumbria. You will diagnose faults, perform planned maintenance, calibrate instrumentation, and ensure control equipment operates safely and reliably.
You’ll work with process, operations and engineering teams across the Cumbria region, undertaking site visits with a strong focus on problem-solving, autonomy and delivering high-quality digital work records.
Qualifications
- Level 3 qualification in Instrumentation, Electrical, Control or Mechatronics.
- Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience working with industrial/process instrumentation or similar.
- Ability to read technical drawings, manuals and P&IDs.
- Full UK driving licence.
- A proactive, independent working style.
Responsibilities
- Fault‑finding, repairing and calibrating instrumentation including flow, pressure, level and analytical equipment.
- Completing reactive and planned maintenance across the Cumbria region.
- Supporting installations, upgrades and project teams with technical expertise.
- Providing high‑quality digital work records and documentation.
- Working safely and professionally across all sites.
