Job summary

Gill Cooke Personnel Ltd T/A The Recruitment Group in Witney seeks an experienced Service Manager to lead its engineering and customer service function. This hands‑on leadership role will own day‑to‑day service operations, manage a team of engineers, and ensure customers across the UK and Europe receive high‑quality technical support.

You will coordinate installations, service visits, maintenance and warranty support while driving process improvements, efficiency and strong customer

Qualifications

• 5+ years' relevant experience in service, engineering or field-based environments.
• Proven experience managing an engineering or service team.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organisation and planning abilities.
• Experience with KPIs, reporting and budgets.
• Proactive, hands-on management style.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of field-based engineers.
• Coordinate installations, service visits and maintenance.
• Manage customer relationships, warranties and service contracts.
• Oversee spare parts, stock, logistics and external engineers.
• Support European distributors and travel within Europe when required.
• Monitor team performance, KPIs, costs and service efficiency.
• Work with Sales and other departments to deliver excellent customer service.
• Ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
