Job summary

Cadent is seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to maintain, repair and improve E&I assets across the gas transportation network. You will be hands‑on in the field, performing fault finding, repairs and system modifications while supporting safety and regulatory compliance.

The role involves a standby rota, regular travel across the UK and collaboration with Cadent teams to ensure safe, reliable operation of critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience in Electrical & Instrumentation environments including installation, maintenance and fault finding.
• Strong understanding of electrical/instrumentation drawings, procedures and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards (e.g. BS7671, EAWR, Health & Safety at Work Act).
• Flexible working and field-based responsibilities requiring independent and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and improve E&I assets across the gas transportation network.
• Perform fault finding, repairs and system modifications in field settings.
• Support standby rota to ensure network performance and safety.
• Oversee contractors and third parties to ensure safe, high‑quality work delivery.
• Travel across UK as part of regular duties.
