Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a field-based Controls Technician to commissioning, troubleshoot and service HVAC systems at customer sites across multiple regions. You’ll use hands-on skills, diagnostic software and standard tools to ensure end-to-end performance, while maintaining safety and delivering excellent customer service.

You’ll work with internal teams to share insights, generate reports, and support continuous improvement. A UK driving license and right to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in service or field-based technician role.
• Strong knowledge of customer service principles.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate technicians to deliver customer experiences.
• Effective communication, analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in using Apps, diagnostic software, and MS Office Suite.
• Knowledge of manufacturing industry an advantage.
• People and communication skills with a positive mindset.
• Able to work with minimal supervision and be a good team player.
• Able to cover standby and call outs with travel and overnight stays; UK driving license required.
• Right to Work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning, programming, setting up graphics, communications link, end to end testing, troubleshooting, and servicing on assigned projects.
• Documenting point to point verification, sequence of operations validation and job close out requirements.
• Represents the company as the direct customer contact for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects.
• Maintains knowledge on Trane products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems.
• Uses software and tools to diagnose and repair units within systems.
• Collaborates with Service desk, Sales, and Operations Team to share customer insights.
• Generates regular reports on completed invoiced work orders.
• Fosters strong customer relationships through exceptional service.
• Coordinates with local field service representatives, regional leaders and customers on updates to drive continuous improvement.
• Enforces safety standards and records use and condition of assets.
