Job summary
SCG Midlands is seeking a Field Communications Engineer to join a team delivering telecoms and IT/datacoms support and installation services. You will work on hosted telephony and IT/datacoms systems, liaising with customers and third-party IT professionals to ensure high-quality delivery.
The role requires hands-on installation and fault management, with evidence of strong networking knowledge and willingness to develop in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years IT or Telecoms support experience.
- Full UK driving license.
- Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, on the phone, in person and electronically.
- Experience in high-volume, fast-paced environments requiring teamwork and flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Installation and support of telecoms and IT/datacoms systems.
- Using Supplier Portals to manage systems and faults.
- Generating, monitoring, and handling customer requests, issues, and fault reports.
- Undertaking surveys and support for technical installation projects.
- Provide liaison and guidance to customers and 3rd party IT professionals to ensure quality delivery and support of our solutions.
- Produce detailed technical documentation on system installation and support procedures.
- Providing customer training.
- Working closely with the service delivery and project teams.
