Job summary

Black Country Housing Group is offering a fixed-term Housing Officer role (Customer Relations Manager/CRM) based across Black Country & Birmingham. The role focuses on delivering high-quality housing management services to around 255 homes, with 35 hours per week.

You'll handle rent and service charge arrears, estate management, tenancy support, and resident engagement, travelling to estates as needed. A minimum of 2 years in housing, a full UK driving license, and an Enhanced DBS disclosure are

Qualifications

• Must have housing experience of tenant and social housing.
• Knowledge of best practice in one of estate management, income management or tenant support.
• Knowledge of housing law and awareness of current housing issues.
• Seeks ways to bring improvements in the way that work is done.
• Customer Services or Housing Qualification required.
• The post holder will be subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure check and a three-month probation period.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive housing management services within a defined geographical area of approx. 255 units, including rent and service charge payments and arrears.
• Manage voids and lettings to achieve void turnaround.
• Tenancy management including nuisance and anti-social behaviour.
• Resolve queries and complaints from residents in a timely and responsive manner; provide advice and support to sustain tenancies.
• Promote and support resident engagement activities; develop neighbourhood plans and build local partnerships.
• Meet with all residents in the area at least twice per year, including shared ownership customers.
• Market homes within the area and maintain a waiting list for all properties.
• Assist residents to meet rent and service charge obligations.
