Job summary

BD is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support installation, commissioning, and maintenance of BD Dispensing systems, including BD Rowa, across East England with travel across the UK. The successful candidate will work with the Service Team, ensuring high standards of service.

The role requires mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications, strong fault-finding and customer service skills, and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification.
• Experience in field service or engineering with electro‑mechanical equipment.
• Strong fault-finding, repair, installation and preventative maintenance skills with interpretation of drawings.
• Excellent communication and customer service; ability to manage priorities and work independently.
• Experience maintaining technical documentation, service reports, stock records and digital systems.
• Full clean driving licence; willingness to travel extensively, work at height, manual handling and on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission and maintain BD Dispensing systems per project plans and quality standards.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and software faults remotely and on-site.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and complete service repairs to minimise downtime.
• Deliver customer training and provide technical guidance for effective use of installed systems.
• Maintain accurate service records and technical documentation.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure stock levels are maintained.
• Follow health and safety requirements, policies and quality standards during all activities.
• Participate in on-call rota and travel to support installations and training.
