Job summary

RES is seeking a Field Technician (Solar) to perform operations and maintenance on utility-scale BESS across sites in the UK. You will ensure safety, quality and performance while meeting budget; you will be a fully qualified electrician with HV/DC competencies and experience with large MW-scale plants.

The role is permanent with weekend on-call duties and an overtime system; a company vehicle, smartphone and laptop are provided along with comprehensive training.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified electrician with HV/DC competencies.
• Experience with MW-scale solar PV installations and O&M.
• Ability to read schematics and technical manuals.
• Experience with risk assessments and method statements.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to health and safety requirements at all times.
• Achieve Authorised Person status as trained.
• Plan and perform inspection and maintenance to schedule.
• Diagnose faults in AC/DC systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot sensors, communications networks and firmware.
• Maintain records and reports of maintenance activities.
• Coordinate sub-contractors and ensure safe working.
• Travel between sites and cover training courses as needed.
