Job summary

Fuse Energy is seeking an O&M Technician to perform planned and corrective maintenance across Solar PV and BESS sites. You’ll work on-site, coordinating with subcontractors and clients, reporting to the O&M Manager.

Requirements include 3+ years in solar or electrical maintenance, relevant electrical qualifications, and the ability to read schematics. UK driving licence and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in Solar PV, BESS, electrical maintenance or similar technical environment.
• Electrical qualifications such as NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent preferred.
• Basic understanding of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, switchgear and monitoring systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.
• Familiarity with health and safety standards and safe systems of work.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across Solar PV and BESS sites.
• Perform corrective maintenance and repairs on electrical and mechanical systems.
• Complete routine servicing in line with maintenance schedules and manufacturer requirements.
• Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and to company standards.
• Conduct site inspections, testing and diagnostic fault-finding.
• Identify and resolve equipment issues affecting performance or availability.
• Support rapid response to site breakdowns and system failures.
• Escalate complex issues to senior teams as required.
• Support commissioning activities on newly constructed Solar PV and BESS projects.
• Assist with site inspections, testing and energisation during handover.
• Help ensure assets are installed, tested and operating to spec.
• Carry out work in line with HSE procedures and safety standards.
• Record maintenance reports and documentation accurately and on time.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and external service providers as needed.

Electrical qualifications (NVQ/City & Guilds/HNC/HND)
