Job summary

BUUK Infrastructure is seeking a Fibre Field Technician to support the OFNL network from the Carlisle area. This field-based role covers Newcastle into Scotland and involves maintenance and incident response.

Key duties include routine maintenance of FTTP equipment, collaborating with NOC and field engineering teams, on-call standby, PPE use, and maintaining documentation and safe working practices.

Qualifications

• Practical experience using hand held tools.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
• Willingness to participate in standby rota and on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance of telecoms equipment deployed in the FTTP network.
• Support NOC and Field engineering teams in incident response and maintenance.
• Participate in callouts and on-call periods including weekends and public holidays.
• Create and maintain OFNL documentation and reporting.
