Job summary

Rehability UK Support Services Ltd in Stroud is seeking compassionate Support Workers to assist adults with complex needs, learning disabilities and mental health challenges.

You will engage clients in meaningful activities, support with personal care, meals, appointments and community outings, and communicate in ways that suit individual needs. Driver preferred; sponsorship not offered; full training and career progression available.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with complex needs, or Mental Health, Autism or Learning Disability.
• Gender may be required per service; driver preferred.
• Willingness to learn.
• Flexible and reliable.
• Excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Help people to engage in meaningful activities and opportunities.
• Involve in community activities or shopping trips.
• Communicate effectively with individuals based on their needs.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene if required.
• Administer medications if required (as per training).
• Support with cooking meals, cleaning and daily planning.
• Attend medical appointments with service users.
• Support with social activities.

Your Role

Our Support Workers are our greatest asset. By understanding the needs of people you support, you'll provide exceptional care that can change their lives. Your role will involve, however, not limited to:

• Helping people we support to engage in meaningful opportunities and activities - empowering them to enjoy a great life filled with unforgettable experiences.
• Getting involved in support in the community as social activities or shopping trips.
• Ability to communicate is essential, considering individual communication needs, and helping people communicate effectively with others.
• Assisting with Personal care and hygiene (if required)
• Medication administration (if required)
• Support with preparing and cooking meals. Cleaning, shopping, planning daily activities
• Support with attending medical appointments
• Support with social activities

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience with complex needs, or Mental Health, Autism or Learning Disability, as per service requirement
• Male or Female as per service requirement, and ideally a driver
• Willingness to learn
• Flexible
• Communication
