Job summary

Northern Case Management is seeking a dedicated Female Support Worker to join our client support teams in a domiciliary care setting. You will support a young client with complex needs, including brain injury, gastrostomy, tracheostomy, and epilepsy, across two sites in Cheshire/Altrincham region.

Role involves 24/7 coverage with 12-hour shifts, training provided, and DBS checks. A full UK driving licence and non-smoker status are required to deliver person-centred care with compassion.

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence required.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop.
  • Experience in health care or caring for complex needs desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Cover all hours (24/7) in rotation, including shifts and sleep nights.
  • Provide personal care and support to the client at home.
  • Work with the care team to maintain high standards of health care.
  • Support daily living activities and community outings.

We have a wonderful opportunity for an experienced * Female Support Worker to join our friendly Northern Case Management client support teams, who are passionate about providing a non-discriminatory service to people with acquired neurological damage i.e. brain and spinal cord injury for both children and adults of all ages in a domiciliary setting. Our goal is to empower them to develop their full potential and enrich their lifestyle through providing a comprehensive client focused service! Candidate must hold a full UK Driving Licence, and be a none smoker/vaper.

* Please note we are recruiting Female Support Workers due to a genuine occupational requirement of the person we support therefore this role is exempt from the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9.

Meet our amazing client

I am a little girl looking for fun loving caring support staff to join my lovely team. I suffered a brain injury at birth. I am highly dependent, requiring full assistance with personal care and activities of daily living. I am Nil-By-Mouth and have a gastrostomy for all of my nutrition, medication and hydration needs. I have a permanent tracheostomy, which requires regular suctioning. I also have epilepsy which is controlled. I attend specialist education, and my support workers accompany me to school, and I get out in the community with my adapted vehicle, which I love. I live with my family in a rented accommodation in Cheshire, I will move to my forever home in the near future. I will eventually live at two locations as my parents will have shared custody of me. You will be required to work from both sites. I have a 24-hour care package required at a ratio of 2:1 during the day and 1:1 wake carer at night, and I have 8 team members at the moment.

What you'll be working

We are happy to consider Full Time or Part Time along with Bank Hours Waking Night, Day Shifts and Sleep night Shifts 12 hour shift 8am -8pm 12-hour shifts - 8pm-8am Salary Weekday £14.42 per hour Weekend £15.97 per hour Sleeps- £114.39 per night

What you'll be doing

Carers will be expected to cover all hours (24/7) in rotation and holidays and sickness periods of other care team members. Motivated and enthusiastic females are required, with a commitment to promoting and maintaining an independent lifestyle for an individual with complex care needs. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills while delivering care to an individual in their own/family home. Undertaking a range of duties to support the Client, you will work closely with other members of the team in providing the highest standards of health care. The post requires that you work independently and as part of a team, to a great extent. The post therefore requires that you work and conduct yourself in a manner that is acceptable to the employer. Reliability, integrity, and complete trustworthiness are essential attributes in this post.

What you'll have

A genuine interest in providing the best person centre care possible. Previous health care experience of working with an individual with complex needs which is desirable but not essential as full training will be given. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Willingness to learn and develop. Candidate must hold a full UK Driving Licence, and be a none smoker/vaper.
