Job summary

SeeAbility in Drayton, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist with daily routines and person-centred activities for individuals with complex needs. The role offers guaranteed hours and a supportive team environment.

You will contribute to tailored support plans, build meaningful relationships, and maintain accurate notes while working 37.5 hours per week on a full-time basis with shift work.

Qualifications

  • Strong English communication skills (spoken & written).
  • Previous experience in a care/support setting.
  • A valid manual UK driving licence.
  • The legal right to live and work in the UK.

Salary

£13.69 per hour (£26,695.5per annum) plus benefits

Hours

7.00 am – 3.00 pm, 2.00 pm – 10.00 pm (Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis. Please note, the shifts may vary due to the needs of the people we support)

Contract

Full-time (37.5 hours per week), Permanent

Driving Requirement

A valid driving license is required (Manual, UK)

You’ll be supporting John, a vibrant individual with complex needs who’s moving into a specially adapted home.

John lives in a single occupancy home which is purposely adapted to meet his complex needs. He loves going out every Friday for KFC, also trips to cafés and going on drives. His dad is a big part of his life, so family involvement is key and often has family visiting him. When he is not out and about enjoying himself, he usually likes being at home listening to music (especially classical), Disney films, colouring, and outdoor fun like trampolining and swings in the garden. Routine is very important to James.

You’ll be making a real impact with person who have:
  • Learning disabilities, including using communication tools like Makaton or PECs
  • Working with individuals with autism and/or visual impairments
  • Experienced with behaviour that is highly challenged and applying Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies
