Job summary

Disability North in Forest Hall, Newcastle upon Tyne, is seeking a female Personal Assistant to support a 79-year-old client in a fully adapted bungalow. You will join a small, caring team and share weekend shifts.

The role requires patience, reliability and the ability to work as part of a team. Primary duties include helping with showers, toileting, transfers using a hoist (training provided), meal preparation and light housework.

Hello, I’m Mary and I’m a 79-year-old lady and I’m looking for a female personal assistant to join my team of carers who take care of me 24/7. I enjoy an organic diet and love to sit in my conservatory listening to books. I live in a fully adapted bungalow with my little dog.

Working hours available are

Saturday 08.00 – 21.00

Sunday 08.00 – 21.00

Monday 08.00 or 09.00 – 16.30

Can be split between successful applicants

My personal care routine involves assistance with showers, toileting and transfers (using a hoist – full training provided) meal preparation is part of the job as are some light household duties.

I would also like someone who has full clean driving licence with at least three years driving experience, as I have an adapted automatic vehicle (a driving lesson will be provided) and like to go out on occasion, shopping or appointments. You must be over 25-year-old for insurance purposes.

The role is about supporting me to live independently, and I am looking for someone who can work as part of a team and can help me make each day and enjoyable and fulfilling.

I forgot to mention you need to like dogs!
