I am looking for a kind, reliable and accepting Female Personal Assistant to support me with daily care, getting out and about, and day-to-day tasks.
My disability varies in severity. Some days I may be completely bed bound, while on other days I may be able to manage more than one activity. I am looking for someone who can be flexible and understanding, and who is able to work with me at my pace.
Support will include:
help with daily care and personal assistance
preparing food and drinks
support to get out in my powerchair, including walking my dog
help with day-to-day tasks around the home
support to go out for longer once a week, so one day will need to be 3+ hours
I need fixed hours from Thursday to Sunday. Hours from Monday to Wednesday can be more flexible, as my husband is available during this time.
Alternative fashion, music and art are central to my identity, so it is important that my PA is open-minded, accepting and creative. I need someone I can build trust with, as feeling safe and comfortable with someone in my personal space is very important to me.
The right person will be respectful, calm, reliable, non-judgemental and happy around dogs.
Female applicants only due to the nature of personal care. This is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
Previous care experience is helpful but not essential, as the right attitude and willingness to learn are most important.
