Job description

Location: Longfield area

Salary: GBP 14.50 per hour

Hours: 12-16 hours per week (Shift times are flexible depending on the needs of the client. Opportunities for weekdays, evenings, and/or weekends)

The Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated mental health support worker to join the team in Longfield, Kent. You will help the client maintain independence, access the community, and maximize the quality of her life.

Our client is completely blind and fully independent in her home. She needs assistance to access the community, and they are looking for someone who can join her in activities such as visiting farms, going to theme parks, swimming, walking in parks, and visiting the seaside, weather permitting. An animal lover is essential, as she has a house rabbit and loves all animals. She has a great sense of humor and needs someone who is consistent, caring, and able to handle resistance.

  • Previous experience is advantageous; however, candidates with no experience but a willingness to learn will be considered.
  • Support the client to be as independent as possible, including managing daily responsibilities, planning social activities, and handling correspondence and personal appointments.
  • An up-to-date DBS check at the enhanced level is required, paid for by the employer if necessary.
