Job description

Brain Injury Support Worker, East Sussex, TN21. Part-time and full-time opportunities available for an experienced Brain Injury Support Worker or Rehabilitation Assistant to support a gentleman based in Heathfield, TN21. Up to GBP19.00 Gross per Hour.

Details:
  • Nearest Station: Not applicable, a driver with their own car is essential to travel to and from the client's home.
  • Wage/Salary: GBP17.00 Weekdays, GBP19.00 Weekends, GBP21.00 Bank Holidays. Gross per Hour.
  • Driver Essential? Yes, WAV (automatic drive) for use on duty.
  • Essential Experience: Brain Injury or neurological conditions (stroke or spinal injury), manual handling, and community support experience. This role is open to female applicants only.
  • Start Date: Negotiable.
  • Days & Hours: Full-time, part-time, and Bank Shifts available from Monday to Sunday. Day shifts (7.45am–8pm) and sleep-in night shifts (7.45pm to 8am).

About the Client:

Jack, aged 52, is a long-standing client of Snap Care. He is described as a devoted husband, a loving father, a true gentleman, and a family man. Jack enjoys humor, banter, Formula One, woodworking, movies, cards, gardening, gym, swimming, and painting. He has a gym and swimming pool at home.

Six years ago, Jack sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and complex orthopedic injuries; he is a full-time wheelchair user. He experiences fatigue, short-term memory issues, and impulsiveness. Support is needed for transfers, communication, and daily activities, following detailed care plans. Jack is also a Type 1 Diabetic.

Role Overview:

The team provides 2:1 support during most days and 1:1 at night. Support includes assisting with daily routines, supporting rehabilitation, and enabling Jack to live as independently as possible. The team works according to a weekly plan, supporting Jack both at home and in the community.

Candidate Profile:

Applicants must be drivers with their own cars due to limited public transport. Enthusiastic, positive, intuitive, and energetic individuals who can motivate and advocate for Jack are ideal. Sharing interests like gardening or fitness is desirable, but not essential. A passion for sports, especially football, is a bonus.
