Job summary

SkyCare is recruiting Female Care Assistants in Pudsey. You will provide personal care, assist with daily activities, and support residents with dementia and other conditions. Stay engaged through therapeutic activities, document observations, and report to nursing staff promptly.

Full-time, 33-44 hours/week with day/night shifts. DBS checks and references required; training provided; opportunities for career development within SkyCare's residential and dementia care services.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care role with people living with dementia is desirable.
• Excellent communication and empathy are essential.
• Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support with daily living activities.
• Engage patients in activities to promote recovery and reduce distress.
• Monitor and report changes in condition to nursing staff.

• Collaborate with nurses, psychiatrists, and social workers on care plans.

Female Care Assistants

We are only able to accept applicants who have the right to work in the Uk and live within a commutable distance to the location of the job role and able to work full-time 33-44 hours per week.

The Nursing home offers a range of specialist care for residents, ranging from Alzeimer's and Parkinsons care to care for stroke victims.

Successful applicants, will have 1-2 years experience preferably in a similar role.

Salary: £12.82 per hour

Work Environment

This position is crucial in the healthcare system, as Mental Health Care Assistants play a vital role in helping individuals manage their mental health conditions and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Provide personal care and support to patients, including assistance with daily living activities such as eating, bathing, and dressing.
• Therapeutic Engagement: Engage with patients in therapeutic activities to promote recovery and alleviate distress. This includes identifying factors that may increase agitation and employing de-escalation techniques when necessary.
• Monitoring and Reporting: Observe and document patients' conditions, including any changes in behavior or mood, and report these to the nursing staff.
• Supportive Environment: Create a safe and compassionate environment for patients, ensuring their dignity and privacy are respected at all times.
• Collaboration: Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, psychiatrists, and social workers, to implement care plans and support patients effectively.
• Crisis Intervention: Recognize signs of distress or crisis in patients and respond appropriately to ensure their safety and well-being.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience in a care role,experience with dementia, brain injury and nursing home is desirable
• Certifications: Holding a Care Certificate or equivalent is typically desirable.
• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Cheerful, compassionate, respectful, and caring approach, and have good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good understanding of the needs of vulnerable adults and the desire to make a positive contribution to the lives of others.
• Ability to work on own initiative
