Job summary

Skycare is seeking Female Care Assistants to join our team in the United Kingdom. This full‑time role requires 33–44 hours per week and the right to work in the UK within commutable distance. Salary is £12.82 per hour with no sponsorship provided.

Successful applicants will have 1–2 years of experience in a similar role. You will work with residents across specialist care areas, including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, and support a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality care.

Work Environment

This position is crucial in the healthcare system, as Care Assistants play a vital role in helping individuals manage their conditions and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Provide personal care and support to residents, including assistance with daily living activities such as eating, bathing, and dressing.
• Therapeutic Engagement: Engage residents in therapeutic activities to promote recovery and alleviate distress, identifying factors that may increase agitation and employing de‑escalation techniques when necessary.
• Monitoring and Reporting: Observe and document residents’ conditions, noting any changes in behaviour or mood, and report these to the nursing staff.
• Supportive Environment: Create a safe and compassionate environment for residents, ensuring their dignity and privacy are respected at all times.
• Collaboration: Work alongside a multidisciplinary team—including nurses, psychiatrists, and social workers—to implement care plans and support residents effectively.
• Crisis Intervention: Recognise signs of distress or crisis in residents and respond appropriately to ensure their safety and well‑being.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience in a care role; experience with dementia, brain injury, and nursing home settings is desirable.
• Certifications: Holding a Care Certificate or equivalent is typically desirable.
• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Cheerful, compassionate, respectful, and caring approach, with good communication skills.
• Good understanding of the needs of vulnerable adults and a desire to make a positive contribution to their lives.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
