Job summary

Keoghs LLP is seeking a Fast Track Specialist File Handler to advance litigation in motor claims for leading insurer clients and the MIB. You will manage delegated and non-delegated files, draft strategic documents, and support case progression through Part 7 litigation and Court processes.

The role involves reviewing files, maintaining client guidelines, and collaborating with counsel, insured, and brokers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 months experience of handling litigated claims, including Part 7 claims.
• Sound and practical experience of handling Fast Track RTA litigated files with ability to manage own workload.
• Understanding of indemnity and/or the MIB would be beneficial.
• Reporting to, liaising with and meeting clients professionally.
• Drafting of legal documents including defences, applications, witness statements, Part 35/18 Questions.
• Preparing instructions to counsel and experts and attending conferences.
• Conducting research and keeping up to date with legal and industry practices.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional manner with strong internal and external relationship-building.
• Identify key facts and issues to bring a case to conclusion.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing files and adhering to Client Guidelines.
• Knowledge of Part 7 litigation, the CPR Rules and court procedures.
• Formulating initial and ongoing Strategy with appropriate fee structure.
• Comply with SLA requirements and critical dates.
• Draft reports and confirm Strategy with the client.
• Draft legal documents and comply with court orders/deadlines.
• Monitor spend on a claim (fixed fee or hourly rate).
• Undertaking negotiations with Third Party Solicitors.
• Liaising with Insured, Insurers and Brokers as needed.
• Ensuring actions are carried out per Case Management System lists.
• Undertaking Court Hearings.
• Delegating tasks to paralegals.
• Recording time and management information accurately.
• Processing bills in line with Client Guidelines.
• Ensuring files comply with ISO 9001 guidelines.
• Adhering to SRA Standards & Regulations.
