University of Derby invites applications for a part-time Fashion Technical Adviser to join our Technical Services team. The role is 18.5 hours per week on a 2-year fixed-term contract, based at the Derby campus (DE22 1GB).

You will support teaching in garment construction and pattern cutting, operating and maintaining industrial sewing machinery, and ensuring safe workshop practices. You will work closely with staff and students to deliver practical workshops, demonstrate equipment, and

• Hands-on experience in garment construction, pattern drafting and production methods.
• Proven ability to operate and maintain industrial sewing machinery and pressing equipment.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to safe workshop practice.

• Demonstrate industry-standard equipment and garment construction techniques to students and groups.
• Prepare workshops and assist teaching across fashion programmes.
