Job summary

Barnsley College is seeking a part-time Fashion Technician to support practical fashion and textile sessions across our studios and workshops. You will help prepare learning environments, maintain equipment, and assist with stock control and health and safety compliance in a busy education setting.

The role requires industry experience in garment construction and textile printing, strong organisation and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team,

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or above in a relevant Fashion, Textiles or related subject.

Responsibilities

• Supporting practical fashion and textile sessions.
• Preparing and maintaining teaching spaces, equipment and materials.
• Operating and maintaining sewing and textile printing machinery.
• Ordering and monitoring stock, supplies and student kits.
• Completing and reviewing risk assessments and COSHH records.
• Promoting safe working practices across all specialist areas.
