Job summary

Prison Advice & Care Trust (PACT) in Nottingham is seeking a Casual Family Support Worker (Visits Centre Assistant) to support families visiting loved ones at the visitor centre. You will help with visits, family days, and the play service, providing guidance and a welcoming environment.

The role emphasizes safeguarding, organisational ability, and the development of Pact's family work, with strong teamwork within the Family team and wider agencies.

Qualifications

• Experience and understanding of working with families in a challenging environment, ideally involving offenders or their families.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage a demanding workload.
• Ability to contribute to planning and development of Pact's family work.
• Knowledge of safeguarding/child protection practice.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to build partnerships with a range of agencies.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate prison visits and organise family days.
• Support the play service and activities for families.
• Provide guidance and practical support to families visiting their loved ones.
• Offer advice and information to families at the visitor centre.
