Job summary

St Joseph Catholic Multi Academy Trust is seeking a proactive Family Support Worker in Liverpool to support attendance, wellbeing and educational engagement across academies. You will work with pupils, families and staff to identify barriers and provide practical help.

Reporting to the Head of Safeguarding, Attendance, Behaviour and Culture, you will travel between Trust academies, with flexible working options discussed. Full-time term-time hours are typical.

Responsibilities

• Support schools and families to improve attendance and engagement.
• Coordinate attendance-focused work with school leaders and partners.
• Develop, implement and review attendance action plans for children and families.
• Assist reintegration planning after disruptions to schooling.
• Promote positive engagement in education and life chances.
• Contribute to strategies reducing suspension and disengagement from education.
• Support children and families with identified SEND needs and services.
• Collaborate with SENDCOs, psychologists, health professionals and agencies.
• Promote inclusive practice and reasonable adjustments for development.
• Understand SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes.
• Maintain timely evidence-based reports for statutory and Trust reporting requirements.
• Undertake home visits and risk assessments and ensure safeguarding.
