Job summary

Lancashire County Council is seeking a Family Support Worker for the Early Help Service in Burnley. You will work directly with children, young people, and families to understand needs and create tailored plans that improve outcomes.

You will collaborate with schools and partner agencies to deliver joined-up support, maintaining records and providing flexible, community-focused assistance to families in need.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or substantial experience in a relevant field.
• Experience of working directly with children, young people, and families.
• Strong assessment, planning, and critical reflection skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Hold a caseload of families and deliver personalised, evidence-based interventions.
• Undertake early help assessments and co-produce action plans with families.
• Work as part of a Team Around the Family to provide seamless support.
• Maintain accurate records and apply analysis to justify decisions.
• Build strong relationships with families and professionals to ensure positive outcomes.
• Work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends, to meet family needs.
