Job summary

Lancashire County Council's Early Help Service – Education and Children’s Services is seeking a Family Support Worker to work in Hyndburn & Ribble Valley. You’ll manage a caseload, develop tailored plans for families, and collaborate with schools and partner agencies to deliver joined-up support.

With a Level 3 qualification or substantial experience, you will assess needs, plan actions, and maintain accurate records, while keeping safeguarding, equality, and health and safety at the forefront.

• Level 3 qualification or substantial experience in a relevant field.
• Experience of working directly with children, young people, and families.
• Strong assessment, planning, and critical reflection skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Undertake early help assessments and co-produce action plans with families.
• Work as part of a Team Around the Family to provide seamless support.
• Maintain accurate records and apply analysis to justify decisions.
• Build strong relationships with families and professionals to ensure positive outcomes.
• Work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends, to meet family needs.
