Job summary

Lowerplace Primary seeks a dedicated Family Support Worker to join the Inclusion Team. The role focuses on early intervention, improving attendance, coordinating Early Help support and removing barriers to learning for children and families.

You will work closely with diverse families, deliver individual and group interventions, and collaborate with external agencies to ensure coordinated support and safeguarding adherence.

Qualifications

• Safeguarding knowledge and child protection understanding.
• Experience engaging with families from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to improve pupil attendance and support vulnerable children.

Responsibilities

• Improve pupil attendance and identify barriers to education with families.
• Lead Early Help Assessments and plans as Lead Professional.
• Develop and review support plans to improve outcomes for children and families.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families and carers through early intervention and home visits.
• Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to support wellbeing, attendance and outcomes.
• Apply restorative and trauma-informed approaches to family support.
• Collaborate with staff, external agencies and community services to coordinate resources.
• Maintain records and contribute to safeguarding and child-centred practice.
