Job summary

5 Star Recruitment seeks a Family Support Worker to deliver targeted early help to families from pregnancy to age 19 in Greater London. The role aims to improve health, education outcomes and reduce inequalities.

Primary duties include assessing needs, creating whole-family action plans, and coordinating with universal and specialist services to prevent escalation. You will also lead on safeguarding when required and manage caseloads effectively.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS check is essential.
• Numeracy and literacy to GCSE level or equivalent.
• Further education to NVQ, B-TEC or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Experience of working with children, young people and families in diverse inner-city communities.

Responsibilities

• Assess children and families needs using standard frameworks and engagement models.
• Create a whole family action plan and monitor progress against outcomes.
• Collaborate with universal services to identify needs and risks in a timely manner.
• Deliver early intervention packages and refer to appropriate services as needed.
• Manage a caseload prioritising according to need and risk, while providing excellent customer service.
