Job summary

Rochdale Council seeks a dedicated Family Support Worker to join the Inclusion Team, focusing on early intervention, attendance improvement and removing barriers to learning. You will partner with families, schools and external agencies to promote positive outcomes for children.

The role is designed for professionals who engage empathetically with diverse communities and can deliver targeted support, home visits and restorative approaches within a safeguarding framework.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with children, young people and families.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection and Early Help processes.
  • Ability to engage and support diverse families.

Responsibilities

  • Improve pupil attendance and identify barriers to education with families.
  • Lead Early Help Assessments and plans as Lead Professional for effective support.
  • Develop and review support plans to improve outcomes for children and families.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families and carers through early intervention and home visits.
  • Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to support wellbeing and engagement.
