Job summary

Compass Community Schools is seeking a Family Support Coordinator to play a pivotal role in-Holistic and therapeutic approach, supporting pupils and families to improve attendance, engagement, behaviour and learning. You will act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed in line with statutory guidance.

You will collaborate with families and external agencies to remove barriers, risk, and vulnerabilities, contribute to school improvement

Qualifications

Proven ability to build strong relationships with pupils, families and professionals.
Understanding of safeguarding procedures and statutory guidance.
Experience working with SEMH needs and complex trauma.
Willingness to undertake mandatory training and professional development.

Responsibilities

Promote school ethos and values.
Monitor attendance, safeguarding records and act on concerns.
Lead and coordinate interventions to improve attendance and behaviour.
Develop relationships with parents, carers, social workers and other professionals.
Deliver and evaluate 1:1 mentoring and targeted support programmes.
Coordinate family engagement initiatives and home visits when required.
Signpost families to relevant services and agencies.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports.
Engage in multi-agency meetings and ensure safeguarding is frontline.
