Job summary

Compass Community Schools is seeking a Family Support Coordinator to join the therapeutic pastoral team in Milton Keynes. You will work closely with the Therapeutic Pastoral Lead and SLT to support pupils and families, improve attendance, and lead safeguarding initiatives.

Role requires trauma-informed practice, strong communication, and collaboration with social workers and carers. DBS checks apply and training is mandatory to support school priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience with children and young people with SEMH needs and complex trauma.
• Well-grounded safeguarding knowledge and ability to follow guidance.
• Willingness to work towards Level 5 pastoral qualification.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support for pupils and families to improve attendance and engagement.
• Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) per statutory guidance.
• Collaborate with families and external agencies to reduce barriers.
• Lead and coordinate interventions for pupils and families.
• Maintain records and contribute to reports.
