Job summary

Adult Community Learning (ACL) is seeking a Part-Time Vocational Trainer – ESOL to deliver high‑quality ESOL teaching and assessment for adult learners, helping them build English skills, confidence and progression into further study or work. Session times run 9:30am–2:30pm, Monday to Friday, with possible evenings and online teaching.

Sessions take place at ACL Clacton (travel to other ACL locations may be required).

Qualifications

• Experience delivering ESOL to adult learners.
• Experience delivering teaching, training, coaching, or supporting learners.
• Good digital and ICT skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality ESOL teaching in face-to-face and online settings.
• Motivate learners and help them progress toward goals.
• Plan and deliver learning programmes for diverse adult groups.
• Promote the benefits of technology and develop learners' digital confidence.
• Use assessments to identify starting points, monitor progress and provide feedback.
• Set targets and learning objectives to support achievement.
• Support learners' personal, social and employability skills for progression.
• Maintain accurate attendance and progression records.
