Job summary

Brighton & Hove City Council seeks a Best Start Family Hub Support Worker to work with children aged 0-5 and their families in Family Hubs, venues and homes. You will deliver early help, parenting support and targeted interventions to improve outcomes and strengthen family relationships.

You will build strong relationships, run engaging group activities and provide one-to-one support, while collaborating with health visitors, schools and SEND services and maintaining clear records.

Qualifications

• Build positive, trusting relationships with children, parents and carers.
• Good understanding of child development for 0-5.
• Deliver engaging groups and one-to-one interventions.
• Support families to identify strengths and build resilience.
• Collaborate with health visitors, early years providers, schools and SEND services.
• Maintain accurate records and monitor outcomes.
• Respond to safeguarding concerns and follow procedures.
• Create welcoming, inclusive environments for all families.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with children, parents and carers in Family Hubs, community venues and family homes.
• Deliver early help and targeted support to improve outcomes for children and families.
• Deliver early literacy and communication interventions, run groups, and provide home-based support when needed.
• Partner with a wide range of professionals to ensure appropriate services reach families.
