Herefordshire Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join the Family Help locality team in Hereford. You will deliver safeguarding and intervention services under statutory frameworks to promote wellbeing and safety for children and families.

You will work across multi‑agency partners, assess risks, and develop Family Help Plans while maintaining high standards of practice and professional development.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
• Experience with children and families in statutory social care.
• Confident in assessing risk and delivering effective interventions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a complex Family Help caseload as Lead Practitioner.
• Assess needs, identify risks, and develop Family Help Plans.
• Chair and contribute to meetings (Child in Need, core group, strategy).
• Accurate recording and clear reporting, including court work.
