Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a Family Help Disability Advisor for a 3-month contract in Cardiff. You will support children and families, assess needs, and provide short-term interventions to prevent escalation to specialist services.

Hybrid working with home-based days and occasional attendance at County Hall and community visits. You will work with social workers, schools and health professionals to build resilience and ensure safeguarding throughout.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and families in community, education, health or social care settings.
• Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
• Experience conducting assessments and delivering family-focused interventions.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, young people and families.
• Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle; willingness to travel across Cardiff and surrounding areas.
• Previous Local Authority experience; knowledge of SEND/disability services is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with children, young people and families to assess needs.
• Provide practical, emotional and wellbeing support and short-term interventions.
• Assist families in developing skills, confidence and resilience.
• Signpost to and liaise with relevant services and professionals.
• Collaborate with social workers, schools, health professionals and community organisations.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure data protection compliance.
