On-Site Family Support Specialist (3-Month Contract)

Job summary

The Family Support Worker role is with Civic Recruitment Limited, recruited to support a local authority on a 3-month contract. It is predominantly office-based, five days per week, with some flexibility but on-site attendance is required and umbrella pay at £18 per hour.

You will work closely with Social Workers to deliver interventions, support parenting capacity, and help families facing budgeting, domestic abuse, and related challenges.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, families in social care or safeguarding.
• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence (desirable) and safeguarding training willingness.

Responsibilities

• Support Social Workers in implementing interventions and family support plans.
• Direct work with parents to enhance parenting skills.
• Advise on budgeting, household management and financial wellbeing.
• Assist families affected by domestic abuse and promote healthy relationships.
• Facilitate and supervise family time sessions.
• Participate in duty functions and respond to family support needs.
• Attend child-focused meetings, reviews, and multi-agency forums.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with families and partner agencies.
